This organization was founded in 1916 as the American Assembly of Colleges and Schools of Business, in order to gather the best U. S. schools. In the last few years it has expanded to become the International Association for Management Education, meant to include the most renowned business schools in the world. Being accredited by AACSB is an acknowledged quality distinction highly respected in U. S. and worldwide academic and business communities.
INCAE is one of only eight business schools outside North America which have been accredited by AACSB. In earning this accreditation, an evaluating committee made up of business school deans unanimously recommended INCAE´s accreditation based on its strengths, innovation, and unique characteristics. Special mention was made of the excellence and scope of its education and research programs, faculty quality, new faculty development strategy, and strong commitment by all its academic community members to INCAE´s mission.
This is the regional association charged with accrediting universities and schools in the Southern United States and Latin America. SACS is one of six regional associations covering, as a whole, the entire United States to assure their own quality standards, so no government agency should have to do it.
SACS is recognized by the Government of the United States, and Southeastern U. S. universities and schools can only access public funds if they have this accreditation. In 1994, INCAE was the first business school to be accredited by SACS outside North America. Today, INCAE is one of seven higher-level institutions accredited outside the United States.
