Analysis of the sugar agribusiness system in El Salvador from an international competitiveness standpoint. From an examination of the current situation and the main trends of international markets, the study details the situation at hand using two complementary conceptual frameworks: the Agribusiness Systems Analysis Framework developed by Professors Ray Golberg and James Austin, and the Competitive Advantage Diamond, developed by Professor Michael E. Porter. The paper also includes a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats analysis (SWOT), and ends with reflections and conclusions related to sugar agribusiness competitiveness.
