This diagnosis offers information compiled through over 200 interviews over a three-month period, with hospitality workers, tourism-related government agencies, tourists, and teachers all over Central America, to plan the development of an effective, high-quality tourism training and education system, able to meet the needs of the Central American tourism cluster. One of the weaknesses detected in the region's tourism cluster is service quality. This article offers a number of mid-term solutions to improve service quality in the hospitality industry, through training systems in line with the general education level of workers and by applying maximum efficiency criteria.
