The paper shows progress made in research to quantify the potential supply of carbon compensations from Central American forests, specifically, carbon potential and carbon dioxide sequestration in Honduras . For this purpose the soil use data estimated for 1966 have been taken as the base and year 2000, 2005, and 2015 were used as scenarios, based on general physical platforms considered in the 1996-2015 Forest Action Plan (PLANFOR) of the Honduras government.
