The Marketing major results from a growing demand for specialists at the Latin American market. All students share the same courses during the first year of the program. For the second year, students can choose elective Marketing courses for their Marketing major. Courses deal with current central topics such as Strategic Marketing, Trade Marketing (Channel Management), Business Marketing, Modern Sales Management, Virtual Company Marketing, and Social & Sustainable Marketing, among a broad range of topics to be discussed in class.
Students will apply their acquired knowledge through their field work (management consulting practice - MCP) at the company / industry they choose. The MCP aims at having students keep an appropriate level of contact with real-life business situations at companies and organization in their countries.
It is carried out by groups made up of 3 - 5 members, working at the firm or organization of their choice, under the supervision of a teaching faculty member.
The MCP includes a comprehensive diagnosis of the firm, a competitive strategy, and an implementation plan comprising activity definition, individuals responsible for those activities, implementation periods, coordination mechanisms, and financial impact evaluation.
The MCP comprises three key components, i.e., analysis of the environment, industry analysis, and strategy formulation.
NOTE:
During the second year of the program, courses are taught 50% in Spanish and 50% in English. Therefore, during the first year of the program, students will take a test on their knowledge of the English Language. Students who do not meet the minimum level desired, will receive one to six courses in English with the aim of improving their level in the language, in order to pursue these courses.
