Privacy and Security Policy

INCAE Business School may request personal information through its website. Therefore, use of our website indicates that you have read and accepted our Privacy and Security Policy presented below, as well as our Terms and Conditions.

Information gathering and use

INCAE Business School’s Privacy and Security Policy applies to the gathering and use of information provided by you through our website. This information shall only be used by INCAE Business School.

The system automatically collects IP addresses and pages visited to use them for internal statistic analysis processes. This information is not used to track users’ private data. The user authorizes INCAE Business School to use this information for marketing, statistics and website improvements.

The information that users send through this website shall be the responsibility of two departments:

1. Department heads and/or those in charge of corresponding institutional databases (event registration, fundraising). These departments shall store all data you provide except credit card information.
   
2. INCAE Business School’s Finance Department shall use credit card information to process charges. This Department shall not keep this data any longer than necessary to complete the transactions.

Information shall be used for the purpose it was requested. INCAE Business School respects user privacy rights. INCAE shall not provide personal information from its users to third parties without the users’ consent or unless required by law. 

INCAE Business School shall not sell information to third parties for marketing, publicity or promotional uses.

Cookies

INCAE Business School uses a “cookies” tracking technology. The user may configure his/her browser to disable “cookies.” If they are disabled, the user may continue to navigate our website with some restrictions.

Security

To protect information provided by users, INCAE Business School uses encryption technology to prevent unauthorized access or accidental loss, alternation or destruction of information.
Personal data information, for example credit card information, shall be protected using a SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) 128 bits encoding technology as a secure channel for transactions you make. Our supplier is Thawte. Domains for security certificates are www.incae.edu and www.incae.ac.cr.

INCAE Business School, domiciled in La Garita, Alajuela, Costa Rica, owns these certificates. The dates they shall remain in effect are from September 10, 2007 to September 10, 2009.

Since no system can guarantee complete security, INCAE Business School shall try to maintain user information as safe as possible, including assuring the physical security of the server where the information is stored.

Data Transfer

We may transfer your data (with the exception of credit card information) to our country offices to develop events or in the case of sending personalized invitations to donors for events or sending mail. In the last case, INCAE Business School shall only and exclusively share your name and address with the courier service company to make the delivery.

Updating Data

We periodically carry out telephone interviews to update the information you have provided to us through our website.

Updating Policies

INCAE Business School’s Privacy and Security Policy was updated on September 1, 2008. We may periodically modify this policy. If it is modified, we shall communicate the changes on our website.

Payment, Changes, Cancellation and Certification Policies

You must pay for your participation in any of our events in one of our country offices or through our website at least five business days before the start of the event. If payment is not received, INCAE Business School reserves the right to cede your spot to participants on the waiting list.

Payment Policy

The entire amount must be paid before the start of the event. If it is not, a late fee of 5% of the course price shall be applied.

Participant Changes or Cancellations and Registration Reimbursement

Since participation in all events is limited, the participant must pay 100% of the price before the start of the event.

If you cannot attend the event and you have already paid for your registration, you may transfer your spot to another member of your company or organization at no additional cost. Please contact the sales executive to make this change.

The entire cost of your participation shall be transferred for use in another event or events to be held during the next six months or reimbursed, when the change is communicated in writing (via email or fax) at least 10 calendar days before the start of the event.

Ninety percent of the registration fee shall be transferred for use in another events or events to be held during the next six months or reimbursed, when the change is communicated in writing at least 5 calendar days before the start of the event.

When the request for a change is received less than five calendar days before the start of the event, no cash reimbursement shall be available. The participant may only request a transfer of 90% of the cost of his/her registration to another event to be held during the next six months.

INCAE Business School’s Finance Department shall transfer the participant’s balance to a deferred income account during the six months established in this policy.

INCAE’s Cancellation of an Event

If, for any reason, INCAE cancels or postpones an event, it shall reimburse or transfer 100% of the cost to the participant. INCAE shall also guarantee a spot at the next event to be held on the same topic.

Participation Certificates

Participation certificates shall only be awarded to participants who pay for and attend the entire event.

Event Fees

Fees for all events include registration, didactic materials, food (lunch and coffee) and a participation certificate.
