“Our mission is not to create lives for those who study here; it is to train them to change the lives of others.”  This quote, spoken by a member of INCAE’s National Committee in Costa Rica, immediately struck me for how well it encapsulates the essence of INCAE and describes what sets us apart from other business schools. INCAE graduates are not just in the business of making money; they are in the business of changing lives.
This is the cause that motivates me and every member of the INCAE family as we go about our daily work. It is the cause that inspires our generous friends and partners to donate their time and funds to making sure our work can continue. It is also what compels us, as we approach our 50th anniversary, to embark upon INCAE’s first structured fund-raising campaign.

The challenges we face are real and pressing. INCAE’s current endowment of less than $5 million earns only enough to cover a very small percentage of our annual operating budget.  Grants are increasingly hard to come by.  What’s more, we are losing some of our top applicants each year to schools in the U.S. and Europe that can offer more competitive scholarship packages.

A moment to Illuminate

Our preliminary goal of raising $50 million will provide the critical resources needed to attract and retain the best and brightest students and faculty, provide a secure and consistent funding base for our most impactful research initiatives, and enhance our campuses to provide the level of facilities and services befitting a world-class institution.

The funding objectives for this campaign have been carefully selected to have optimal impact in the areas where they are most needed. Donors can be assured that INCAE will be accountable for each and every gift it receives and that their generosity will truly make a difference.

It is through the fulfillment of these goals that we can maintain INCAE as a top tier business school in Latin America and allow us to continue serving as one of the most effective agents of responsible, sustainable change in the Region.
