Managing risk is not the same as minimizing it

Risk is neither good nor bad per se, it is a weight we should leverage.  Sometimes, it is convenient to reduce it, to mitigate it, but sometimes we want exactly the opposite: sometimes to manage risk we have to increase it! The problem is if we only understand risk as a something that must be minimized, we will never see it from the correct perspective.
