El profesor de INCAE, Julio Sergio Ramírez, impartió lecciones este lunes a los periodistas.INCAE, June 24, 2013. Beginning today through June 27th, twenty-two journalists will be taking part in the seminar, "From leadership to sustainability: new issues related to responsible decision-making." The seminar is being taught at the INCAE Business School's Walter Kissling Gam campus, in Costa Rica.

Participants include journalists from Costa Rica, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador and Panama, who work in different print, radio, and television media, as well as publicity or consulting firms. The seminar is being sponsored by the Batcca Chair for Corporate Social Responsibility, and its goal is to create arenas for discussion between Central American journalists—with guidance and teaching provided by INCAE—about the role of leadership in promoting sustainable development.

The Batcca Chair was created in 2010, through a donation made by the British American Tobacco Caribbean & Central America Company (Batcca) to INCAE, for purposes of research.
This is the second seminar organized with journalists. The first was held last year with journalists from Costa Rica. As INCAE professor, Dr. Juan Carlos Barahona—also is academic director of the course—explained, "our changing world requires active participation in building citizenship, and journalists undoubtedly need to make responsible decisions, and share information with other decision-makers in our society, in the framework of collective accountability."

The journalists will receive classes from professors Dr. Julio Sergio Ramírez, Dr. Arturo Cruz, Dr. María Elena Carballo, Dr. Juan Carlos Barahona and coach Francisco Villalta.
