Students from Stern School of Business receive course on sustainability at INCAE

INCAE, March 13, 2012. Twenty one MBA students from the Stern School of Business, of New York, University are participating in the program Doing Business in Costa Rica: Sustainable Business in Latin America, from March 11 until March 15.Professor Francisco de Paula Gutiérrez introduced the Stern students to the economy of Costa Rica.

The program is coordinated by INCAE professor, Michael Metzger, and classes will be taught by INCAE Professors Francisco de Paula Gutiérrez, Arturo Cruz, Maria Elena Carballo, Lawrence Pratt and Ana Maria Majano, Michael Metzger and Esteban Brenes.

In addition, students will make a series of visits to companies within the electronics industry, the Ministry of Energy, and several tourist sites.

As explained by the Dean of Masters Programs, Guillermo Selva, this is the first time INCAE has received a group of students from NYU, marking an important collaboration between the two institutions.

INCAE, March 9, 2012. INCAE is embarking on its first structured fund-raising campaign that seeks to secure resources to continue to have a powerful impact in the Region.

Carlos Pellas, President of Pellas Group, member of INCAE’s Presidential Advisory Council and recently named Vice President of the Board, details how this business school has shown its commitment to the Region’s development.The launch was held on March 6 in Managua, Nicaragua, and on March 8 in San José, Costa Rica. Both events were presided over by INCAE's Board, President Arturo Condo, and the Director of Development, Wendy Rodríguez.

The attendees included members of the INCAE Board, the Presidential Advisory Council, National Committee, the Founders' Circle, as well as friends, donors, graduates and other members of the INCAE family.

A special recognition was presented to Danilo Lacayo Rappaccioli, member of INCAE's National Committee since 1964, and member of the Board since 1976, commemorating "his exceptional leadership and effort, and his commitment to INCAE's development which have contributed and strengthened our Institution, its history, evolution, development and impact in Latin America"

One highlight of the events, was the debut of the "The INCAE Project"; a short film produced by Ana Coyne Alonso, a well-recognized Nicaraguan-American filmmaker.

The international launch of the Campaign will be held with events on April 10, 12 and 19 in three cities in the United States: Boston, New York and Washington, DC, respectively.

   

Yale School of Management offers two Post MBA seats to INCAE graduates

INCAE, March 5, 2012. As part of the launch of its Global Network for Advanced Management, Yale School of Management has offered INCAE graduates two seats to study a Master of Advanced Management (MAM), a kind of post-MBA.Potential candidates for this program can only come from member schools of this Global Network.

INCAE was recently invited by Yale School of Management to join this network of international business.

  • Club debuts on new global web site and makes its first presentation in Europe

INCAE, March 1, 2012. The international footprint of the student-led INCAE MBA Oath Club increased last weekend with two different events--one taking place in the virtual world of the internet and the other at a conference in Barcelona, Spain.Alejandro Castro, the Oath Club’s Co-President for the Costa Rica campus, marked the Club’s first ever appearance in Europe by serving as a panelist at the 9th Doing Good Doing Well Conference in Barcelona, Spain.

On Feb. 26th, the Club debuted as a Featured Program on the web site of the Oath Project, which is the lead non-profit organization promoting the MBA Oath as a global movement. INCAE shares the distinction of being an Oath Project Featured Program with three other business schools—Harvard Business School, Thunderbird Global School of Management, and Babson.

INCAE, February 10, 2012. Yale School of Management invited INCAE Business School to join a new network of international business schools.

This network focuses primarily on the exchange of faculty and curriculum content, preparation and use of instructional materials and implementation of joint programs to strengthen each of the partner schools.

The global network is based at Yale University and includes leading and prestigious schools.The global network is based at Yale University and includes leading and prestigious schools in areas of great development in the future. In total, 20 institutions are expected to become part of the network.

Other business schools that have been invited to this network are INSEAD (with campuses in France, Singapore and Abu Dhabi) the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, the University of Ghana Business School and Koç University Graduate School of Business from Turkey.
