INCAE will host the Strategic Management Society Conference to be held for the first time ever in Central America

strategic management society conferenceINCAE Business School will be one of the official sponsors of the Strategic Management Society (SMS) conference, to be held for the first time in Central America on December 14 at Campus Walter Kissling Gam in Costa Rica, and on December 15 and 16 at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in San José.

Two INCAE faculty members, Dr. Esteban R. Brenes and Dr. Octavio Martínez, will serve as co-chairs for the conference. The third co-chair is Dr. Jay Anand from the Ohio State University Fisher School of Business. The event aims to bring together academics and faculty members from top business schools around the world to discuss, learn, and share about management research topics stressing collaborative strategies, new thinking on strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions.

The conference is supported by INCAE's Steve Aronson Chair of Strategy and is expected to be attended by 230 people

women socialINCAE Business School launched a new research and regional impact project called The Social Progress of Women in Latin America: Towards the Construction of Equitable Societies- 2017. It focuses on identifying the development potential of women in the region and on improvement opportunities related to impact policies and action. The study will be aired for the first time on Tuesday, November 21 at 4:00 p.m. Miami time at Portafolio Global, CNN en Español, and CNNEspanol.com.

Women in collaborative leadership, a goal pursued by INCAE's Center for Collaborative and Women's Leadership Center, is a key topic at INCAE aimed to achieve business competitiveness and to foster development.

foto empA team of INCAE faculty members and researchers conducted the 2017 Study on Gender and Entrepreneurship in Latin America and its Role in Economic Development. The study aimed to identify obstacles and factors governing women's entrepreneurial endeavors and to help design training programs and appropriate stimuli systems to promote their success. The study data were collected through a survey conducted among 342 entrepreneurs from 15 Latin American countries.
