02 de July 2019
On June 26 2019, INCAE Business School, through its Career Services Department , Advancement & Alumni Affairs and in partnership with the Peruvian Association of INCAE Graduates (AGI) held the Peru Career & Networking Day. The event took place at the facilities of Page Group Peru, a leading recruitment consultancy with whom INCAE has a close relationship. It was attended by nearly 80 graduates from different INCAE MBA classes living in Peru.
"The activity is intended to give companies a good chance to meet, interview, and share with the new Peruvian graduates from INCAE’s 2019 MBA Program, as well as with members of previous classes looking for a job", said Gloriana Cumming, Director of INCAE Career Services.
The event began with an employability lecture for recent MBA graduates by Ignacio Hernández de la Torre, Managing Director of Page Peru.
Next, a job fair was held with different companies including La Positiva Seguros, Consultora Selectiva, Alicorp, Banco Falabella, Boston Scientific, Banbif, Page Group, Cargill, Purina, Grupo Aje, Backus, KPMG, and Scotiabank.
Dania Martir from Boston Scientific commented: "I am very pleased to participate at this job fair sponsored by INCAE in Peru. There is a lot of good talent, very good use of our time, excellent candidates, and an ideal format. "
On the other hand, Mariel Vásquez-Solís from Scotiabank added: "We really thank INCAE for giving us the chance and the time to find very interesting profiles. Since we are always searching for talent we really appreciate this opportunity."
A total of 256 interviews were scheduled. It is expected that companies will be able to find the candidates they need for their open positions, in addition to providing alumni with job opportunities and professional growth.
Peruvian INCAE alumni were very enthusiastic about this activity in their country and for the job opportunities derived from this event. Fiorela Lazo, a recent graduate from INCAE’s MBA Program, said, "I attended this fair looking for interesting opportunities with new companies which are currently recruiting new employees."
For his part Dennis Concha, who graduated from INCAE in June 2019, added: "This fair provides recent MBA graduates with a great opportunity to look for a job. It was superbly arranged and I am very happy to take part in this event. Now we are looking forward to hearing from the companies that took part in it."
To close, all participants attended an update lecture on Competitiveness and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This lecture was given by Dr. Octavio Martínez, Professor of INCAE and Director of the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development (CLACDS).
Just like in the previous years, a representative group of Peruvian INCAE alumni whom INCAE has been accompanying through their Employability Program attended the event. The Peru Career & Networking Day is part of the activities INCAE conducts to support its alumni in their search for jobs. The event is also scheduled to be held on July 10 in Guayaquil, Ecuador; on July 11 in Quito, Ecuador; and on July 23 in Guatemala.
