Winners of INCAE's First World Championship
By INCAE Alumni & Advancement
The first INCAE World Championship ever was held during INCAE's Annual Alumni Meeting on August 29-30 at Walter Kissling Gam Campus in Costa Rica. More than 60 teams and 200 alumni from 16 countries took part. The competition consisted of increasing the profitability of a medical products company and was carried out through Medica Scientific, an application sponsored by Professor Luis López and his team from Processim Labs, a simulation developer.
The winner team was Comando Iwia consisting of Christian Rivera, Andrés Soriano, and Sebastian Segovia from Ecuador and Rodrigo Rojas from Chile (2017 EMBA). Doble Jota (Costa Ricans José Mora and José Francisco Solera - 2018EMBA) ranked second, followed by Los Magos (2018 MBA graduates Marco Cruz and Rodolfo Luna from Guatemala and Costa Rica). These teams will receive partial scholarships for specialized MBA programs, flights to Miami, and INCAE fan kits.
The video sent from Paraguay by Rodrigo Rojas upon receiving the news can be seen below as well as Andrés Soriano's testimony. Both of them are members of winner team Comando Iwia.
"I would say this was an indescribable experience, INCAE style. We relived the intensity of competition, now worldwide, through remote collaboration as a team, working day and night, hour after hour, getting it right and wrong, and always looking to apply and deploy knowledge, and finally, making decisions under pressure. We went through all this, which brought us back to our student's days. We wish to congratulate INCAE for this beautiful, innovative initiative ..."- Andrés Soriano
