A professor, consultant and businessman, Dr. Alfaro, from Guatemala, joined INCAE in 1986. He has been the academic director of several training programs for the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations.
He specializes in Institutional Analysis, Finance for Development, Micro Finance and Economic and Social Development. He’s a member of the world Microfinance Network in MBA programs and the Academy of Management (AOM).
Dr. Barahona is Associate Professor of Management of Technology and Innovation at INCAE the leading Business School in Latin America, where he also serves as the Academic Director of the Executive Master in Marketing and Digital Transformation.
Currently, Dr. Barahona´s research interest is focused on the role of informal social networks and the study of subjectivity to improve adoption of digital solutions within the firm, manage change and build a culture of innovation.
Esteban Brenes, from Costa Rica, specializes in strategy and entrepreneurship. He has lectured at the business schools of universities like Michigan, Chicago and Duke. He’s a visiting professor at Cotrugli Business School in Croatia. He has taught in tailor-made programs for Carlsberg, Coca Cola, Oracle, CEMEX, Citibank, Chiquita, among others.
Silke Bucher, a German and Swiss citizen, is Assistant Professor at INCAE Business School with an interest in Organizational Behavior and Leadership. She received her Ph.D. from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, was a post-doctoral fellow at the Chair for Strategic Management in Pluralistic Settings at HEC Montréal, Canada, and worked as an expert consultant at McKinsey & Company, Costa Rica
Arnoldo Camacho is from Costa Rica and specializes in banking, finance and microeconomics. He is the author of two books about financial markets and has written several case studies.
Professor María Elena Carballo, from Costa Rica, obtained her Ph.D in Literary Studies from Brandies University in the United States. She wrote her dissertation on El Otoño del Patriarca, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and the Hispanic novel during the dictatorship.
Before joining INCAE, she was Fulbright-LASPAU scholar for three years, and for two consecutive years, she also received the Hirschfeld Fellowship at Brandeis Unversity. The book La Casa Paterna, which she co-authored, won the national essay award in 1993 in Costa Rica.
He’s a specialist in innovation management, business competitiveness, and business in emerging economies. He has over twenty-five years of experience in teaching, research, consulting, and management of academic institutions. He has been an advisor to different governments in the region (Brasil, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and several Caribbean countries).
Prof. Clancy is renowned as an expert in topics of gender diversity and women leadership. She has succeeded in a predominantly male environment.
She has a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from Harvard University, where she was a Faculty member. At INCAE, she is a professor and Research Director of the Center for Women’s Leadership.
She has presented at numerous conferences and training programs at multinational companies like Coca-Cola, INTEL, General Mills, HP, P&G, and HSBC.
