Biography

A professor, consultant and businessman, Dr. Alfaro, from Guatemala, joined INCAE in 1986. He has been the academic director of several training programs for the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations.

He specializes in Institutional Analysis, Finance for Development, Micro Finance and Economic and Social Development. He’s a member of the world Microfinance Network in MBA programs and the Academy of Management (AOM).

He has lectured in conferences all over the world, including all the countries in Central American, the U.S., Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, The Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela, France, The Philippines, India, Morocco, South Africa, and Uganda.

In the MBA programs, he teaches Finance for Development and Microfinance, Managerial Control, Finance, Entrepreneurship and New Businesses, Introduction to Consulting, Negotiation, and the Management Consulting Practice (MCP).
