INCAE Business School and the Universidad del Pacífico agreed to coordinate the Social Enterprise Knowledge Network (SEKN) in September 2018. Since then, Professor Andrea Prado, Director of the Strachan Chair of Philanthropy and Social Investment has led the initiative.

SEKN focuses on creating and disseminating knowledge about entrepreneurial and social ventures, both inclusive and sustainable in Latin America. The annual meeting of SEKN was held on the campus of Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru.

In this meeting, representatives of the member schools discuss the development of the next teaching cases of the SEKN collection (available at Harvard Business School Publishing.) SEKN is interested in having more academics use the cases of Latin American companies and organizations it publishes. "We want Latin American teachers to teach using cases from the region, which address the challenges faced by organizations in this context, so different from the US or Europe," said Professor Prado. Case studies can be found at www.sekn.org

The manuscript of the SCALA Observatory Project research study was also presented at the meeting. Through this project, funded by the IDB and the Canadian Cooperation Agency International Development Research Center (IDCR), the participating schools created knowledge about inclusive distribution businesses in Latin America, their challenges, and their learning. The book will be published in the coming months and will be available for free on the SEKN website.
